Dove Air’s mission is to provide every human on Earth with instant access to vital medical supplies. We believe that where you live should never dictate whether you live. We are at the forefront of a logistics revolution, using autonomous aircraft to deliver just-in-time, lifesaving medical supplies at a national scale in several countries and expanding around the world. Are you interested in building a system that 500 million people will depend on with their lives?
Ready to change the world?
Dove Air’s mission is to build a world where access to quality healthcare does not depend on your zip code or the GPS coordinates of where you live. We design, manufacture, and operate an on-demand delivery service. We’re currently operating in four countries on three continents, and have completed overseas engagements with the US State Department.
Dove Air’s US Federal Business Development team is currently expanding into the US government public health and defense sectors and is looking for an extern to drive and support new revenue streams with the US Department of Defense (DoD) and other federal entities. In addition to working closely with the US Federal team, the extern will have an opportunity to work with members of Dove Air’s other Business Development teams; and our engineering, product, and operations teams.
On all projects, you’ll have a unique opportunity to work on both strategy and operational implementation. Dove Air highly values radical ownership, and you’ll have many chances to see your work through by implementing your solutions starting in your first few weeks on the job. On some projects, you’ll be the sole owner; on others, you’ll work as a member of a broader team.
Projects are likely to span the following areas, and will require an understanding of Dove Air’s current capabilities and product roadmap, as well as customers’ missions and modernization priorities:
Market Entry Strategy: Create “market entry” plans for entities within DoD by analyzing defense appropriations, acquisition authorities, and funding opportunities; especially related to COVID response and future UAS delivery.
Market Research & Analysis: Analyze DoD’s Research, Development, Testing & Evaluation (RDT&E) budgets, identify funding opportunities, and lead the team’s development of applications and proposals.
Stakeholder Mapping: Profile key market stakeholders within DoD. Who are the biggest players in public and defense health, what are their challenges and opportunities for growth, and where can Dove Air capture the most value?
As Dove Air is growing quickly, your exact scope is likely to evolve throughout the externship. We’ll be able to tailor your scope to fit your interests, skills, and desired development opportunities.
Location: The extern will be based in the United States, ideally based near the customer in the Washington, DC area. Other locations can be considered.
To be successful, you will need:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, international relations or a related field
- A masters degree in a related subject (preferred)
- To be comfortable working remotely (particularly given COVID-19)
- To have experience working with or in the federal government and/or federal acquisition
- To be comfortable with start-ups and an entrepreneurial work atmosphere
- To be enthused by bringing cutting edge technology to the public sector.
